For the appreciation of the arts

On 8th February 1968 the inaugural meeting of The Thanet Antique and Fine Arts Group was held in Broadstairs.  In 1971 the name was changed to The Thanet Decorative & Fine Arts Society until October 2017 when we became The Arts Society Thanet.  We are still going strong and our aims have not changed.

Our Society brings people together through a shared interest and curiosity about the arts. Our events provide a welcoming place to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge about the arts.

Our Programme Secretary chooses a wide variety of subjects for the lectures including not just paintings but subjects such as architecture, ceramics and sculpture. We hold special events and outings each year - you will find more information here. Our aim is to introduce our members to a wide variety of talks, to educate and entertain.
